Teri Donovan, An Archaeology of Time
June 22 - July 16, 2011
Teri Donovan's painting installation at The Red Head Gallery touches on histories that linger in consciousness and continue to hold sway despite efforts to move beyond them. Her work exposes personal and cultural manifestations deeply ingrained over time that continue as ongoing forces. As a result, the past, the present, and the upcoming join together in patterns that form the backdrop of contemporary life.
Teri Donovan is a Toronto-based artist. She graduated from York University and the University of Toronto, and studied at the Ontario College of Art, the Toronto School of Art, and The Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore. She exhibits in Toronto and Ontario, and her work was featured in Carte Blanche Vol.2: Painting, a survey of contemporary painting in Canada. She is currently a member of The RedHead Gallery.
